Chilling in Florida

December 25th 2006 in Random Thoughts

It’s raining here in Florida.  A nasty front rolled by causing some tornadoes in Orlando, but it’s nowhere nearly as bad in Cape Coral.  The rain shower we got was mild, but the sky was ugly and black (not that black is ugly, just a black sky at daylight is ugly heheh…)  This gloomy fresh air day reminds me of days when I was a kid in Romania with the same kind of weather, and I’d sit in the apartment listening to music waiting on the rain to pass by and smelling the fresh air the rain brings.  When you’ve driven for 24 hours to get to a destination a rainy day is not exactly what you have in mind for entertainment, but nature is obviously something nobody can control. There is a certain irony to my being here: I have a good friend whom I cannot see at the moment – I won’t elaborate – but he is very near by.  I’ll call my friend “chicken claw” and he knows who he is.  I miss my friend.  I hope he is doing well.  I wait for the day when I can see my friend again.  So, “chicken claw” I hope you’re taking care of business, I hope you got your head screwed on right, I hope…to have pizza and a Heineken with you in the near future ;-)  But in any case, whatever the future holds, whether good or bad, know that you have at least one friend out there that is thinking about you and misses you.  Okay enough of the sappy stuff ;-)
Wednesday is supposed to be beautiful  Tomorrow there is a 30% chance of rain.  I’ve taken a few photos and will upload them to the photo gallery shortly. One of the guys caught a blue crab in the canals here, and another guys caught an amber jack.  Tomorrow and through the week I want to go around and check out the Fort Myers area.  Perhaps my buddy chicken claw will show me the area a little better next time I come down here – I’m betting he knows the fun spots ;-)  More to comes.  Peace!

The first post of 2007.  Here’s a funny story from lunch a week ago.  There’s this Thai place on Woodward ave not far from the office which I frequent.  Last week I happened to be there with several co-workers.  As I’m finishing my order (you order like you’re at a burger joint and go [...]
