Summer and planning for it
It’s June, and summer’s finally here with a “loud” announcement. It was quite hot in Detroit over the Memorial day weekend, and the heat came at once like a freight train at a quiet barrier. No shelter from it if you had work outdoors like I did. There’s always something to be done when you own a house and no matter what you do there’s always more to do and there’s no end in sight. I wish I would’ve bought a condo instead
It seems just regular maintenance is taking up a lot of my outdoor work, and the enhancements are taking a mostly quiet back seat. Then there’s the carpenter bees. God put them on earth to annoy homeowners and destroy our decks
Unfortunately I seem to have an infestation in my patio roof and they’re burrowing in the joists. Quite annoying when you see 3/8″ holes bored into the roof. I called an exterminator – they’re supposed to come today, but I haven’t heard anything from them yet. I think I will be calling them soon to find out what their e.t.a. is.
Being summer, it’s camping time! And so I’ll be going to camping two weekends in a row at the end of June. First at Wilderness State Park, and next in Leelanau State Park. The first is tent camping, the latter isn’t *really* camping because I’ll be in a cabin (but there are no modern shower facilities…if that counts for anything.) Looking forward to both trips although I think all the driving up-north and back will be somewhat tiresome. Nevertheless I’m a bit of a tree hugger so I’ll enjoy it.
There has been a long pause since I last posted anything. I’ve added an small enhancement to my site called side notes. Very cool, and it’s free. If you scroll down you can see some examples.
